That contemplating the real
And the reflection
Are one in the same
I can live in one, from moment to moment
The other is lost to eternity
In the ripples created
By the slightest disturbance
So I choose to live in the moment
To be mindful
Undisturbed by the complications
Of contemplating the abstract, or the real
The first is an illusion
The other, ephemeral
The moment — the now — is all that I can experience
And all I care to know
This is my response to the August 15th edition of the New West Writers Photo Prompt.
