‘Pebbles’ by V. Parks

Pebble upon pebble
placed on the gravesite
forms an imposing mound.
how many come here to remember,
for how many years?

the nameless,
neighbouring grave
is bare.
there i place my stone.

(Presented by Parks to the January 2010 meeting of New West Writers)
